Information

9. Intel International Science & Engineering Fair

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) is the world's largest international pre-college science competition. Held annually in May, the Intel ISEF brings together more than 1,500 students from over 50 nations to compete for nearly $4 million in prizes and scholarships.

The 2010 Intel ISEF will be held in San Jose, California, May 9-14. Students selected by the Marion Area Science & Engineering Fair to attend Intel ISEF will receive an all expenses paid trip to San Jose for the week of the competition.

The number of students that will qualify for the Intel ISEF from the Marion Area Science & Engineering Fair will depend on the amount of funding that is available. It is expected that two individual projects and one team project (with two or three students) will be sent as finalists to ISEF. In addition, if funding is available, up to two students from the Marion Area Science & Engineering Fair may attend ISEF as observers - students who participate in all ISEF student activities, except for the judging of their projects.
