OSU-Marion Math Challenge Problem #5

Solutions due Monday February 11, 2008 at 5:00 pm

 

This week’s problem is really four separate problems. First, show that 10^25+14  is a multiple of 6. Then show that 4^20-1  is a multiple of 3. Now, show that 2^70+3^70  is a multiple of 13. Finally, show that 4^9+6^10+3^20  is a composite number.

Make sure to give an explanation of how you got your answer.

 

 

Correct solutions by current OSU-Marion and Delaware Center students will be recognized on this page and in Buckeye Briefs. The student with the most correct solutions at the end of the year will receive an award ($100 Gift Certificate)at the Academic Recognition Program in the Spring.

  • Submit a written solution to one of the Marion Math Faculty by Monday Februray 11 at 5:00.
  • The next challenge will be posted Friday afternoon, February 9 and due Monday February 18 at 5:00
